This major release contains the following:
- The previous separate products GAIA Print Charger and GAIA Net Charger
have been combined into one database with a single administration program.
If you want to retain your previous data, you can import the previous data
into the new database. Once imported, you can un-install the previous
versions.
- User now have two balances; one for Print/Copy and one for Internet
charges.
- Walk up copying support has been added via a Copyguard CG-1000 and
Lantronix UDS10 device server .
- The Administration program name has been changed to GPCharge.exe.
- The Payment Manager is now a 32-bit program and now only shows the
enabled options; all disabled options have been removed and it is no
longer supported on Win 3.x. Online help is now included and the program
name has been changed to GPPayMan.exe.
- All programs now accept a parameter of data=path to specify the
location of the database. If the parameter is not specified, the program
will search for a registry entry to locate the database. Failing that, the
current working folder will be used.
- The Balance Inquiry program has been deleted and all functionality
moved to the Print Client program, GPClient.exe. If run without
parameters, the client will be added to the system tray where it can be
activated by right clicking. If run with a parameter of /Display the
user’s details will be displayed.
- Printing, Copying and Internet tabs have been added to all appropriate
dialog windows.
- Users and groups can be restricted to particular departments.
- Users and groups can be restricted to particular copiers.
- Users can now be imported directly from the domain and domain group
names can be selected when creating groups.
- Importing of users from a text file can now include a numeric id and
print and internet balances.
- Users can change their PIN via the web using the GPPinCgi.exe program.
This is a secure process so that users do not need write access to the
database.
- A Services applet button has been added to the toolbar.
- User and Department transaction list boxes allow filtering by type of
transactions.
- Printer properties dialog has Daily Jobs, User Jobs and Dept Jobs tabs
added.
- A Job Size Limit has been added per printer.
- A Reference field has been added to receipts.
- A Move button has been added to the Groups list to move users to
another group.
- Printer names up to 255 characters are now supported.
- The Service tab in Setup Options allows installation of Print Copy and
Internet monitoring services.
- Added report for User Transactions per Department.
- Support for the LawMaster product has been added. The LawMaster tab in
Options allows access to all options specific to LawMaster, including
automatic charging of jobs to departments and creation of new departments.
- Graphs added to Reports menu.
- Scroll bars added to browse tables.
- Client can now be loaded by a logon script.
- Double click client to display details.
- Options added to control the functions permitted in the Payment
Manager.
- Single setup wizard allows selection of registration or other wizards.
- Web Administration module added via the GPWebCgi.exe program.
- Log File Path option added.
- Net Charging service refresh period added.
- Group option added to User Trans Export.
- Initial balance transaction written when user account is created.
- Client now correctly limits department choice to the restricted list.
- Online help updated.
Version 2.0 Updates
These updated modules fix
problems reported in the V2.0 release. You are advised to download and
install them only if you have the problem described or if requested to do so
by GAIA Support. Otherwise you should wait for the next full release of the
product.
This update fixes the following problems:
- Totals on the Net summary and detailed
reports were not correct
- Usernames starting with underscores caused
some reports to fail.
This update fixes the following
problem:
- Remote mode commands for some Epson
printers were not being recognized causing incorrect page counting.
This update fixes the following problem:
- Specific site entries in the charges table
were not always being recognized and the default charge was being applied.
This update fixes the following problem:
- Copier connections over a WAN could be
disconnected by network devices without the server being notified. Further
connection requests then failed until the service was restarted.
