Update Releases V4.0.1 

This major update contains the following new features and fixes:

1. Database

   1. The Gaia database has been restructured and simplified to improve the way you access the data.

   2. All user charging properties have been removed and replaced with group properties. This means properties are set only on the group and users automatically inherit the current group properties. You no longer have to apply group properties after changing them.

   3. User level Cost Centre restrictions have also been removed and replaced with the restrictions on the group. This means you only have to edit and save group properties to have them instantly apply to all group members.

2. Administration

   1. User and Group properties windows have changed to match properties now being only on the group.

   2. Users and groups can now have a separate Copy balance. Previously Print and Copy used a combined balance. This option is still available, but there are now 3 options for balances.

   3. New groups options added to allow and charge for different types of jobs.

   4. Unique serial number added to recharge vouchers to assist auditing.

3. Cost Centres

   1. Copy balance added.

   2. Charging options for Cost Centres are now set globally in the Setup Options.

   3. New options added to allow and charge for different types of jobs.

4. Copying

1. A new web service has been added to support copiers and 3rd party devices capable of communication via SOAP. This is a separate installation and requires Microsoft .Net Framework V2 on the web server.

2. A new charging table has been added for copier paper size, colour and duplex options similar to printing.

3. The Copyguard device for connecting copiers is still supported but not capable of detecting paper size or colour.

5. Internet

1. The options to deny proxy access have been simplified and are now placed on each group to apply to all group members.

2. The Windows group name used to deny users access has been extended from 20 to 255 characters.

6. Windows Client

   1. Has been updated to show the separate balances if selected.

   2. Transfers are available between any defined balances.

7. Web Client

   1. Has been updated to show the separate balances if selected.

   2. Transfers are available between any defined balances.

8. Installation

   1. This release updates any version 3 product. If you are running V2.x you must upgrade to V3.x first before installing V4.

   2. Stop all Gaia services and programs before upgrading. If you use the web client or web administration, restart IIS before upgrading to unlock all web modules.

   3. The database will be automatically updated when you first run Administration.

Version 4.0.1 Update released 28-Sep-2007

1. Fixed an issue with the print service on multiprocessor servers.

2. Fixed an issue where automatically added users might not be assigned to the correct group.
