Version 4.2 Release Notes

This major update contains the following new features and fixes:

If you are upgrading from V3.x, please read the V4.0 release notes before proceeding.

1. Administration

1. Domain Local groups are now supported allowing lookup of up to 2 levels of nested groups.

2. The domain group lookup window now includes domain local groups.

3. Added tree views for Printers, Copiers and their charges.

4. Added options to disable recharge vouchers from being used for particular balance updates.

5. Changed Export Users to select a group range and include an option to select inactive users.

6. Print and copy charging rates have been expanded to 3 decimal places allowing 10ths of cents per page.

7. Print and net transaction lists now default to the latest transactions.

2. Printing

1. Auto adding of users can now select a matching domain local group.

2. The total job cost is rounded to the nearest cent when the user account is debited.

3. Fixed adding users from trusted domains where the correct group might not be selected.

4. Fixed print service where it could use high CPU when the license had expired.

5. Stopped the print service from performing net adjustments.

3. Internet

   1. Added option to ignore computer names in the proxy logs.

   2. Auto adding of users can now select a matching local group.

   3. Fixed opening the ISA Update Log from the Logs menu.

   4. Fixed allowing net access after a Scheduled Adjustment restores balance to positive.

   5. Changed the net control service to always perform net Scheduled Adjustments so that ISA can be updated if needed.

4. Web Client

   1. Fixed an issue with vouchers where entering an amount with a currency sign could cause the balance not to be adjusted.

5. Installation

   1. This release updates any version 3 or later product. If you are running V2.x you must upgrade to V3.x first before installing V4.x

   2. Stop all Gaia services and programs before upgrading. If you use the web client or web administration, restart IIS before upgrading to unlock all web modules.

   3. The V3 database will be automatically updated when you first run Administration.

Version 4.2.1 Update released 19-Feb-2008

1. Fixed net charging of W3C text logs for ISA 2004 and ISA2006.

Version 4.2.2 Update released 22-Feb-2008

1. Fixed print charging to a Cost Centre using charges that add to the balance where the user's own balance was zero.

Version 4.2.3 Update released 6-Mar-2008

1. Fixed "Bind error" on Printers browse window when selecting "By Printer" tab.

2. Fixed displaying of user and cost centre balances in Web Administration.

3. Fixed entering of amounts in Web Administration where single digits were not accepted.

4. Fixed an issue in net charging using low rates (eg. 5c/MB) where user balances and statistics were not updated for long periods.
